ABOUT THE ACADEMY

The Academy of Persian Physicians was established in 1988 through the unified effort and cooperation of a group of accomplished and well-known Iranian physicians and surgeons. Among the most important objectives of the Academy are:

*   Conservation of the Iranian cultural wealth and heritage.
*   Preservation and promotion of the ethical, scientific and practical values of the medical profession.
*   Assistance to the constructive social programs for the enhancement of the Iranian quality of life.

The active and cultural members of the Academy are dedicated to their commitments and responsibilities towards their fellow countrymen; and are determined to persistently improve their quality of medicine and its valuable ethical issues.

It is the policy of the Academy not to be involved with any political or ideological activities so as to be able to concentrate solely on the important professional, cultural and social programs in the best interest of the Iranians.

In the past, the published directory has ably served the Iranian community as a catalyst in resolving many of their health and medical concerns. It is sincerely hoped that the present Academy web site will be even more beneficial in responding to these needs.
